The birth of your baby should be one of the most joyous occasions you'll ever experience in your life. Unfortunately, sometimes this happy moment can turn tragic when a birth injury is discovered. And it becomes even more tragic when you suspect that a doctor, nurse or other medical practitioner involved in your baby's prenatal care or delivery committed the negligent act that caused the injury.

Erb's Palsy
There are many types of birth injuries, ranging from blindness, deafness and brain damage to physical and mental disabilities, such as Cerebal Palsy or Erb's Palsy (also known as shoulder dystocia or brachial plexus palsy). Erb's Palsy is a full or partial paralysis of the arm caused when shoulder becomes lodged in the mother's pelvis during birth. By not using proper procedures during this type of delivery, the baby can suffer damage. It's important to understand that, in many cases, this type of injury could have been prevented.
